Singer and songwriter Albert Frost comes from Cape Town (RSA) and is a recipient of a South African Music Award (SAMA).
His style sits on the edge of blues, rock, and folk. His performances blend delta blues, psychedelic rock, and Afro rhythms. Frost captivates audiences with his mastery of acoustic and electric guitars and has been a Fender endorsee for 25 years. He is recognized as the "South African Hendrix" and hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as the "dark prince of South African blues".
Frost's second original album, "The Wake Up", won the award for Best Rock Album at the 2017 SAMA Awards. His latest album, "Sacred Sound", was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2022 SAMA Awards. Albert's ability to engage with his sound has earned him a global fan base, leading to international tours with Simple Minds and R.E.M. and opening for acclaimed bands such as The Rolling Stones, Mike + The Mechanics, and TEXAS. Throughout his career, Frost has collaborated with a wide array of acclaimed African artists: Ali Farka Touré, Finley Quaye, Karen Zoid, Henry Ate, Arno Carstens, Neil Sandilands, Tubatsi Mpho Moloi, Robin Auld, and Jake Gunn.
