Colors of the Karkonosze Mountains – Photography exhibition by Tomasz Mucha

On August 6 at 5:00 PM, the Galeria nad Schodami in our library will host a beautiful photo exhibition, “Colors of the Karkonosze Mountains.” It features photographs by Tomasz Mucha – an artist who has been documenting mountain landscapes with extraordinary attention and sensitivity for years. Mucha is both a mountain photographer and a licensed Sudetes guide. His relationship with the mountains began in 2005 when he first saw the Tatra Mountains from the peaks of the Pieniny. This moment sparked a passion that eventually grew into his way of life.

Since 2014, he has intensively traversed Polish mountain ranges – the Tatras, the Sudetes, and the Beskidy – learning their light, rhythm, and capricious nature. In 2022, he settled in the Izera Foothills to be even closer to the places that have become his second home. Two years later, he earned his license as a Sudetes guide, combining his daily work with what he loves most: being in the mountains.
“Colors of the Karkonosze Mountains” is a story about closeness to nature, the silence of high ridges, and the emotions captured in mists, shadows, and light. Mucha's photographs are both a document and a testimony of a personal journey, a mature perspective, and a deep respect for the mountain landscape. Each shot is a frozen moment and, at the same time, an invitation to feel, if only for a moment, the raw yet soothing power of the Karkonosze.

The exhibition aligns with the values the artist prioritizes: passion, safety, and support – both in daily mountain life and in photographic work. It is a tribute to nature, its changeability, and the beauty that rewards only those who look closely.
