The Library is 80 years old!

80 years of history captured in photographs, documents, and memories

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna w Zgorzelcu (Public Library in Zgorzelec), we cordially invite you to the poster exhibition "The Library is 80 years old!", which presents the rich history of our library, a place that has been an integral part of the cultural and social life of Zgorzelec for decades.

The exhibition has been prepared based on photographs, posters, and press clippings documenting the most important events, initiatives, and projects.

It is a story about a place open to knowledge and culture, about changing interiors, and numerous meetings with authors and the local community.

The exhibition is not only an opportunity for memories and reflection on the rich past of our institution but also an expression of gratitude to all the librarians, readers, and friends of the Library who have helped shape its unique character over these 80 years.

We invite you to discover the history captured in photographs and documents and to celebrate the anniversary of the Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna w Zgorzelec together.

The exhibition "The Library is 80 years old!" will be presented at the Gallery of the Miejski Dom Kultury w Zgorzelcu from 23.10.2026 to 20.11.2026. The exhibition vernissage will take place on 23.10.2026 at 16:30. Free admission.
