The PLAC association and Galerie Kaplička cordially invite you to the exhibition opening of Jana Strejcová, a Jablonec-based designer of original ceramics.
About the exhibition
The Mšeno Chapel is a place I return to throughout my life. I grew up near it and watched everything around it change, while it remained the same. A reminder of the past and a part of the present.
In my work, I have long worked with a rhythmically repeated gesture - lines. Their rhythm and regularity have become a way for me to think about time. Time that flows almost imperceptibly, yet leaves its mark on us and around us.
The exhibition consists of two lined ceramic vases. One is based on the time of the Mšeno Chapel, the other on my own time. Together, they open up a relationship between the endurance of a place and human life.
"Translating time" is an attempt to translate something intangible into material, rhythm, and a repeated gesture.
The exhibition is held with the financial support of the statutory city of Jablonec nad Nisou.
