For Jana Machatová and Peter Machata, jewelry is a medium of participation, an artistic practice through which they have long investigated the communicative, semantic, and identity-forming potential of art jewelry. Through the complex space of the wearable brooch and pendant, inclined towards material-technological experiment as well as the fundamentals of the goldsmith's craft, they confront us (and themselves) with what we value, what we desire, and what we fear – in their lived, engaged, and fragmented visual scenarios, they conduct a permanent and critical dialogue about the temporalities of memory and identity.
