Kirill Yakovlev Trio

Kirill Yakovlev Trio creates instrumental music on the border of contemporary jazz, rock, and ambient. Atmospheric compositions, distinctive melodies, and the extraordinary synergy of three virtuoso musicians invite listeners into soundscapes that alternate between silence, melancholy, and gripping rock energy.

The Kirill Yakovlev Trio is one of the most interesting young projects on the contemporary Czech jazz scene. Guitarist and composer Kirill Yakovlev, together with double bassist Jan Sedlák and drummer Petr Nohavica, creates original music that connects contemporary jazz, Nordic melody, rock, and ambient. Their compositions stand out not only for their instrumental virtuosity but above all for their ability to create a strong atmosphere and soundscapes where intimate lyricism alternates with explosive energy.

The trio was formed in 2022 and just a year later released its debut EP, The Trio. Its first single, The Pathos of the Unreachable Galaxy, became Single of the Week on Czech Radio Jazz, and the track Glance premiered on Radio 1. In addition to concerts on domestic stages, the band also caught attention during tours and workshops in Denmark, where they gained the attention of audiences and local musicians.

Each member of the trio brings their own rich experience from the international music scene. Kirill Yakovlev is known for the projects CIRILIC and B/Y Organism as well as for composing stage music. Jan Sedlák has been active in Denmark for a long time and has collaborated with leading European and world jazz musicians. Drummer Petr Nohavica was nominated for an Anděl award in 2023 and is one of the most sought-after players of his generation. Together, they create music that speaks not only to jazz audiences but to any listener open to strong emotions and original musical stories.
