Join us for a unique evening of music straight from Kenya! Makadem, known as „His Nyatitiness”, is a charismatic vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, the creator of the original Nyatiti Beat style – afro-fusion built around the traditional 8-string Luo nyatiti lute.
His music is a mesmerizing blend of traditional Luo rhythms with jazz, electronica, and contemporary afrobeat – an energetic, danceable sound that captivates audiences worldwide.
Makadem has performed at festivals such as Sauti za Busara (Zanzibar), Smithsonian Folklife Festival (Washington), Folklore Festival (Johannesburg), and FESTAC (Accra), with his concerts drawing a combined total of up to 520,000 viewers!
For years, he has been regularly touring in Europe and Africa, enchanting audiences with his stage energy, masterful playing of the nyatiti, kalimba, and acoustic guitar, and his remarkable ability to connect with the audience — he speaks fluent English, Swahili, Dholuo, French, and basic Luganda.
