The support act for the concert is the Filip Żółtowski Quartet, bringing contemporary European jazz from Gdańsk, Poland, which connects Slavic melody with electronics, hip-hop beats, and open improvisation. The result is music full of energy, color, and distinctive melodies that transcends the boundaries of traditional jazz and targets a new generation of listeners. Last Romantic Warrior brings an energetic mix of funk, jazz, soul, and fusion from Poland. The international seven-member ensemble relies on live musicianship, striking grooves, and top-notch instrumental synergy. No backing tracks, no compromises – just music played fully and from the heart.

Filip Żółtowski Quartet is one of the most interesting young jazz projects in contemporary Poland. The quartet was founded in 2020 by trumpeter Filip Żółtowski in Gdańsk and has been searching for its own musical language at the crossroads of modern jazz, electronics, rock, and hip-hop from the very beginning. A characteristic feature of the band is the connection of jazz improvisation with Slavic melody and contemporary electronic textures, which create a distinctive and easily recognizable sound.

Following their debut album Humanity came the recording Bibi, on which the band developed their work with synthesizers, electronics, and rhythms inspired by the contemporary music scene even more significantly. Nevertheless, the foundation of their work remains live improvisation, mutual communication between musicians, and a strong melodic line. Thanks to this combination, their concerts feel both modern and accessible.

Filip Żółtowski Quartet performs both at home and abroad and represents one of the new faces of the Polish jazz generation that is not afraid to cross stylistic boundaries. At the Mandava Jazz festival, they will offer an energetic concert full of distinct grooves, spontaneous improvisation, and lyrical moments where Slavic sensitivity meets the pulse of contemporary European music.

Last Romantic Warrior is an international project by Polish bassist, composer, and producer Szymon Justyński. After years of touring Europe and overseas alongside singer Ray Greene (Tower of Power, Santana) and legendary soul singer Martha High, a long-time collaborator of James Brown, he created his own band that combines funk, jazz, neo-soul, and fusion into a distinctive contemporary sound.

The debut double album Last Romantic Warrior, released in 2026, brings nineteen original compositions and features numerous prominent figures of the world scene, including Ray Greene or saxophonist Marc Russo, known from the Yellowjackets and The Doobie Brothers. Music critics praised, above all, the extraordinary level of musicianship, strong melodies, and the ability to combine energetic groove with emotions and a contemporary sound.
