Location: Kunst Konsum, Hauptstraße 55, Mittelherwigsdorf
From September 11 to 27, 2026, the former village shop (Dorfkonsum) at Hauptstraße 55 will be transformed into a special place of encounter: the building, which has stood empty for decades, will become an open art studio and interactive exhibition.
The "Kunst Konsum" project invites all residents and visitors to get creative alongside artists Sebastian Hänel and Sascha Röhricht. The exhibition begins with an empty space and grows day by day through the transformation of broken items and found objects into small works of art created together.
The focus is on the question: "Can it go, or turn into art?" We invite you to bring along defective, discarded, or seemingly useless items and let us create artworks and stories out of them together. In this way, supposed waste turns into something special and new.
The former village shop, which evokes many memories in Mittelherwigsdorf, thus becomes a lively meeting place – a place where people can design, reflect, and create new things together.
