About this event
On August 22nd from 5 p.m., “Kommen und Gehen” – Das Sechsstädtebundfestival! invites you to the Kühlhaus Görlitz for the evening “Marilyn, and...? – Female Voices in Art and Politics” – on the occasion of Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday. Guests include the singer Isimbi Dee, the pianist and composer Konstantin Dupelius, the writer Julia Malik, as well as the ensemble Neue Kammer. In the program “Murals & Music”, the interdisciplinary ensemble examines visibility in public space. A second focus highlights Jewish female composers and songwriters of the 1940s and 1950s. Artists whose works, shaped by persecution, exile, and new beginnings, have decisively influenced the musical life of the 20th century and deserve active rediscovery to this day. The event takes place in cooperation with the series “Via Regia – Jewish – underway” as part of TACHELES 2026.
