A play with an all-star cast – Tomasz Karolak and Daniel Olbrychski on stage – it is perfect theatrical entertainment for a demanding audience.
In "Unexpected Return", Daniel Olbrychski plays the character of an actor who is set to play King Lear. The particular stage fright and great hopes associated with taking on such a major acting challenge are not foreign to Olbrychski. After all, he faced them himself when he played lead roles in Shakespeare's plays.
The backdrop for these acting dilemmas is complicated family relationships – troubles with partners, parents, and children, which are extremely amusing, as long as they don't concern us!
An especially important character is the protagonist's son – played by Tomasz Karolak, who is well-known to audiences from many television and cinema productions. An actor with great comedic talent, he will also have no problem stepping into the character – after all, he has been a son since birth!
Where will all these threads lead? How will the father-son relationship unfold?
