We invite you to the 1st Ostfrauen* Salon Zittau.
After Isa Grütering launched the Ostfrauen*Salon in 2024, the doors were besieged, and we have since become a network of almost 1,000 women, with the trend rising.
The response shows: The exchange among women* socialized in East Germany is more important than ever. That is why the salon has been held in various locations since the beginning of 2025. We have already met several times in Berlin, Frankfurt (Oder), Leipzig, Neustrelitz, Erfurt, Wandlitz, Cottbus, and even in West German cities like Hamburg, Cologne, and Göttingen. And now, for the first time, in Zittau.
It is an exchange format for women with an East German background, focusing on both listening and sharing stories. Each woman has exactly five minutes to talk about what concerns her as an East German woman, the experiences she had during the GDR era, the period of the Wende and the post-Wende years, or even today. It is about disruptions, new beginnings, enduring, and moving on.
