About this event
FIFTY SHADES OF VOLUNTEERING - WE HELP WHEREVER WE ARE NEEDED
A photo exhibition about the work of volunteers from Červený trpaslík, z. ú.
FIFTY SHADES OF VOLUNTEERING - We help wherever we are needed
Volunteering has many faces. Sometimes it means holding a spoon for someone who can no longer hold it themselves. Other times it means helping someone in a wheelchair overcome stairs, comforting a lonely person through a therapy dog, teaching a child to save a human life, or standing ready with a first-aid kit at a sports event. Sometimes, it is enough just to be close by.
The exhibition
Fifty Shades of Volunteering
presents real stories of people who dedicate their time, energy, and hearts to others. Each photograph captures a different form of help – from informal care for loved ones to volunteer service for seniors, a rental service for medical aids, animal-assisted therapy, and medical supervision, all the way to first aid training. Yet, they all share one thing in common: they show that even a seemingly small act can have enormous significance.
Volunteering is not just work. It is the willingness to stop, to listen, to reach out a hand, and to be where a person is needed. It often remains hidden, without applause or spotlights. That is exactly why it deserves to be seen.
The photographs were taken during the daily activities of
Červený trpaslík, z. ú.
They are not staged – they capture real moments of help, trust, joy, and human closeness.
They serve as a reminder that volunteering is not about extraordinary people. It is about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
Because everyone can help. And every story of help has its own shade.
The organizing body of the event is Červený trpaslík, z. ú.
The event takes place as part of Social Services Week.
