Pierluigi “PG” Petricca brings the raw, acoustic blues world of the streets, small clubs, and the old masters of the Mississippi Delta. His resonator guitar, slide, rough voice, and busker-like spontaneity create a concert that relies not on effects, but on authentic emotion, rhythm, and stories rooted in the deepest foundations of the blues.
Pierluigi “PG” Petricca is an Italian singer, guitarist, and songwriter dedicated to archaic acoustic blues. His musical world draws from the tradition of street musicians, small clubs, and blues festivals, where what matters most isn't effects, but the ability to tell a story and reach the listener directly. A characteristic instrument in his work is the resonator guitar, through which he connects with the masters of the Mississippi Delta – Charlie Patton, Bukka White, Furry Lewis, or Mississippi Fred McDowell.
After his experience with the Papa Leg Band, he founded the Papa Leg Acoustic Duo with Marco Tinari in 2005, bringing the sound of Mississippi delta blues to Italian and international festivals. The duo performed across Europe and the United States, including Mississippi and Tennessee, and collaborated with a number of American blues musicians. Since 2011, PG Petricca has been pursuing a solo career. He has released the albums At Home, Tales And Other Stories, and Bad Days, which received positive reviews in the blues press in France, Poland, Britain, Finland, and Belgium.
His concert will offer blues in its most direct form: a gritty voice, slide, fingerpicking, rhythm, and songs that carry the experience of travels, solitude, and hope.
