The So-Called Anarchist Music Industry is Berlin-based brass-pop-punk with the power of a bulldozer. The name says it all: anarchy played with gusto, teetering between seriousness and madness, sometimes political, sometimes laid-back – sometimes earnest, sometimes fun. Energetic, with complete dedication, and almost always danceable, the So-Called Anarchist Music Industry celebrates life.
No melody is safe from this ensemble. With sophisticated, original arrangements for brass, woodwinds, rhythm section, and vocals, the So-Called Anarchist Music Industry transcends genres and eras, uniting what has always belonged together: Deichkind meets Ton Steine Scherben, Prokofiev meets Trettmann, and Britney Spears meets brass band music. Driving rock music, danceable Balkan beats, funky grooves, and anthemic pathos combine to form a cohesive whole. Eisler, the inventor of punk music, serves as both foundation and bridge. Interspersed throughout are witty banter and unexpected dialectical twists.
No melody is safe from this ensemble. Founded in 2012, but with a long history, the so-called Anarchist Music Industry is equally at home at extended party nights in pubs and dance halls as it is at open-air theaters, art openings, art projects, and street festivals. Programmatic projects with fellow artists like Rainald Grebe or Bachmann Prize winner Peter Wawerzinek are a matter close to their hearts.
