The funniest Czech dixieland band at the Jablonecké tóny festival
As per tradition, we invite you to Jablonec's Tyršovy sady, where the absolute revelation of Czech dixieland, the band Šouflšou from Čelákovice, will perform on Sunday, August 30th, starting at 3 PM. This unique band is picking up the metaphorical torch from Ivan Mládek as the funniest Czech jazz band. On stage, they are energetic and spontaneous, with original Czech lyrics that are so uncompromisingly playful they will make every language lover's heart sing.
The event takes place as part of the 12th annual Jablonecké tóny festival.
The group Šouflšou was formed in 2015 out of a love for dixieland and Czech lyricists who masterfully combine humor with wordplay. The band's lyricist, banjo player, and frontman, Ondra Němeček, draws inspiration from names like Jiří Suchý, Zdeněk Svěrák, Jan Vodňanský, Ivan Mládek, and Karel Plíhal. Alongside melodies inspired by New Orleans jazz bands and their own Czech lyrics, the third essential ingredient of the band is an energetic live show, interspersed with fast solos and even faster banter between the musicians on stage. In their current lineup (banjo, trumpet, guitar, tuba, clarinet, saxophone, and drums), Šouflšou has appeared in the charts of Czech Radio and Radio Proglas, winning twice in 2022, and has performed at numerous festivals across the Czech Republic.

The concert is organized by Kultura Jablonec, p. o. with the support of the statutory city of Jablonec nad Nisou.
