SPORTFILM is an international sports film festival with cultural and sport events, part of the World FICTS Challenge World Finals in Milan, sponsored by the International Olympic Committee.
Festival Liberec as a city of sport offers attractive locations, 50 film screenings, exhibitions, talks, lectures, workshops, art studios, a conference on Mental Health, a gala evening broadcast by CT, where the winning films in five categories will be awarded, as well as the Grand Prix and the Director's Award. Around 400 films from 70 countries compete regularly.
The aim of the festival is to present the best quality films as a motivational and educational tool, to highlight the importance of this work and to promote it. The films must respect universal values linking mental and physical development, sport and society.
The growing interest in mental health is attracting a wider public, not only sports. Discrimination, self-harm, anxiety, etc. are addressed in films in connection with sport. They are also important as an educational component for schools.
