Vibe Fantasy Trio is a profile project by vibraphonist and composer Radek Krampl, a prominent figure on the Czech jazz scene. Their original music blends jazz, soul, blues, and Latin American rhythms, building on the extraordinary improvisational interplay of three experienced musicians. Expect a concert full of color, energy, and musical fantasy.
Radek Krampl has been one of the most distinctive personalities in Czech jazz for many years. The virtuoso vibraphonist and composer has collaborated with many significant musicians, including Jan Spálený, Luboš Andršt, Milan Svoboda, Meky Žbirka, Roman Dragoun, and Monkey Business. Alongside these projects, he has long been developing his own musical vision through the Vibe Fantasy trio, which is celebrating thirty years of existence this year.
Vibe Fantasy Trio presents a distinctive form of contemporary jazz that naturally combines original compositions with inspiration from soul, blues, and Latin American music. In addition to Radek Krampl's compositions, the set features original interpretations of works by authors such as Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Wayne Shorter, and Ray Charles. A characteristic feature of the ensemble is melodic accessibility, rich improvisation, and the exceptional interplay of all three musicians, who give each piece their own unique form.
At the Mandava Jazz festival, Vibe Fantasy Trio will present a concert that combines instrumental virtuosity with the joy of discovering new musical possibilities. The trio's music is technically refined, yet immediate and open – appealing both to experienced jazz listeners and to audiences encountering modern jazz for the first time.
