Closing of the paddling season with the traditional Tamzpátky race.
Every beautiful season must come to an end, and this year on October 17th, we will gather to ceremoniously close our 2026 paddling season. The traditional Locking of the Jizera, where paddlers hand over the symbolic key of the river to brave winter swimmers – who then diligently guard its cold waters throughout the winter. Naturally, this pleasant autumn gathering also includes the popular "Tamzpátky" race.
An integral part of the Locking of the Jizera is the "Tamzpátky" race. The autumn route is reversed, making it longer and all the more interesting! Everything begins in Dolánky u Turnova, from where competitors set off on scooters along the beautiful Greenway Jizera bike path to Žlutá plovárna in Malá Skála. Here, they swap handlebars for paddles and enjoy a wonderful final float down the Jizera back to the weir in Dolánky, from where only the final sprint to the parking lot awaits them. Individuals (men, women) and pairs (men's, women's, mixed, and adult-child teams for children under 14) can compete. Great rewards are always prepared for the fastest, including experience vouchers from SUNDISK family and gifts from the event's partners.
