About this event

An exhibition commemorating Jewish figures from Jablonec and Zwickau

An exhibition commemorating
Jewish
figures from Jablonec and Zwickau
We invite you to the exhibition ‘Forgotten Tracks’, a joint project by the twin towns of Jablonec nad Nisou and Zwickau. You can visit it free of charge in the Eurocentrum foyer from 15 October, every weekday (7 am–6 pm).
The exhibition will introduce you to seven Jewish figures from Jablonec nad Nisou and seven Jewish figures from Zwickau. Pupils from Liberecká Primary School and pupils from the partner school – Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium in Zwickau – took part in the project. Pupils from the former Class 9C, led by their teacher Ms Petra Endlerová, collaborated with staff from the State District Archive in Jablonec nad Nisou on the preparation of the profiles of the Jablonec figures.
The opening
will take place
on Wednesday 14 October at 4.00 pm.
It will follow on from the laying of Jablonec’s first Stolpersteine – Stones of the Disappeared. These will be unveiled
at 3.00 pm
on Podhorská Street. The Stolpersteine for Rolf Egon Salomon and Hertha Salomon will be placed in front of No. 5, whilst those for Max Moritz Neiger and Susanne Neiger will be placed in front of No. 12. During the programme, representatives of the town and the Jewish Community of Liberec will speak; short stories about the families will be shared; and Rabbi David Maxa will recite the Kaddish. At 4.00 pm, the programme will move to the Eurocentrum for the exhibition opening.
The exhibition is organised by the statutory city of Jablonec nad Nisou in collaboration with Kultura Jablonec, p. o.
