Mnišské louky Bird Park

Since 2020, the vast wetlands in the great bend of the River Ploučnice near Česká Lípa have been undergoing transformation, to become Mnišské louky Bird Park. Once largely abandoned farmland spoiled by illegal dumps, an old sludge lagoon, and choked-up old river channels, this landscape is now the perfect setting for restoring vital nesting grounds for wetland birds. Conservation efforts also provide a thriving sanctuary for rare amphibians, reptiles, dragonflies, and butterflies.
