Roman Catholic Parish - Deanery of Mnichovo Hradiště

The Roman Catholic Parish – Deanery of Mnichovo Hradiště is the central church community in the region. Founded in 1627 and recorded as a deanery from 1691, its archival parish registers date back as far as 1656.

The parish complex includes a Baroque rectory alongside the Church of St James the Apostle, which was built between 1726 and 1727 on the site of an earlier Gothic building, and whose interior holds Baroque altars, a pulpit, and the tombstones of notable local figures.

Besides the main church, the parish also oversees the parish Chapel of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary in Mnichovo Hradiště, filial churches in Mohelnice nad Jizerou and Klášter Hradiště nad Jizerou, and several chapels in the surrounding villages.
