Tyršovy sady Park Jablonec nad Nisou

It was back in 1884 that the local beautification society bought what was then a waterlogged plot of land in the river floodplains to create a park. Now undoubtedly one of the town’s primary landmarks, Tyršův Park is bordered by U Balvanu, Sadová, and Fügnerova streets, and by the Lužická Nisa River.

Major reconstruction work to the park in the late 1970s was followed by extensive restoration in 2001. This latest project focused on enriching the original greenery—consisting mostly of mature deciduous trees like sycamore maple, horse chestnut, hornbeam, and small-leaved lime—with young trees and shrubs, including ginkgo biloba, pin oak, elm, tulip tree, azaleas, and rhododendrons. Visitors are welcomed by beautiful perennial beds at the entrance, while the green spaces seamlessly integrate children's play areas, including new climbing frames that were installed in 2006.
