Vogelschänke Zittau

The club restaurant **Vogelschänke** was founded in the 50s, when the desire for a clubhouse of their own arose. Construction began in 1959 and was realized with the support of the members in many voluntary working hours. The new building was completed in 1962, and an extension followed in 1964. Further renovations took place over time, including a kitchen, a beer cellar, and modern sanitary facilities. A gas heating system was installed in 1997, and the sanitary facilities were modernized in 2001. The name "Vogelschänke" comes from the first tenant, Gerhard Vogel, who took over management in 1965.
