Autumn Holidays at Zoo Görlitz
About this event
The Naturschutz-Tierpark Görlitz-Zgorzelec offers a varied program during the autumn holidays, featuring autumnal animal activities, direct encounters, and options for bad weather for the whole family.
Holiday insights and highlights
Pumpkin Guided Tours (October 14th & 21st, 2026): The special pumpkin guided tours take place at 10:00 am each day. Here, visitors experience up close how animal residents such as banded mongooses or rhesus macaques play with autumn pumpkins, examine them, or use them as food.
Details: Cost €25 p.p. (includes zoo admission), max. 20 places, advance booking required at service@tierpark-goerlitz.de.
Young Animals & Close Animal Encounters: On your walk, you can observe cute young animals (such as camel foals, young porcupines, or donkeys). Direct animal encounters are also possible – brush donkeys, have close encounters with camels, or feed porcupines by hand.
“Wild Love Stories” & Indoor Discovery World: The new discovery world “Wild Love Stories” at the Naturschutz-Tierpark Görlitz-Zgorzelec, unique in the German-speaking world, takes explorers of all ages on an exciting journey through the love lives of animals. Three themed rooms with interactive stations, animated films, and surprising facts combine knowledge, humor, and species conservation.
Free Autumn Craft Sheet: At the ticket counter, children can pick up a free puzzle and craft sheet with coloring and activity ideas for the tour or for at home.
Bad Weather Alternatives
Should the gloomy autumn weather strike, the zoo offers numerous warming and covered experiences:
The Discovery Barn for climbing, romping, and sliding.
The walk-in and partially covered Conservation Aviary (including ring-tailed lemurs, monk parakeets, and rock hyraxes).
The donkey stable, the rabbit world, and the farm for sheltered animal encounters.
