CRYSTAL GARDEN – The Magic of Czech Art, Light, Music, and Nature

For the third time, the Prague Botanical Garden will light up and bloom with Czech art this winter. The Crystal Garden transforms living nature into an open-air gallery where you will discover glass flowers, sculptures, and monumental installations. By day, the colors and details of the craftsmanship stand out; after dark, the garden illuminates with light and comes alive with music and video projections.

Alongside the works of glass master Jiří Pačinek, this year will feature his son, Jiří Pačinek Jr., glass artist Ondřej Novotný, sculptor Michal Trpák, and Dutch artist Hans van Bentem. The exhibition is complemented by light installations from Preciosa Lighting and collaborations with the Prague Philharmonia and students from UMPRUM.

The Crystal Valley will once again showcase the rich glassmaking tradition of the Liberec Region.

The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Czech Commission for UNESCO. Patronage has also been granted by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Czech Republic, H.E. Mina Noor.

OPENING HOURS AND VISITOR TIMES

DAYTIME VISIT

Monday–Sunday from 9:00 to 16:00 (Exhibition hall is closed on Mondays)

Installations are visible only in daylight and without sound effects

Entrance via main ticket offices – Fata Morgana, Bohnice, Kovárna

EVENING VISIT

ONLY Thursday–Sunday from 17:00 to 21:00 (ticket office open 16:45–20:30)

Installations are lit and accompanied by music

Entrance from Nádvorní street 134 (usually serves only as an exit) and the Kovárna ticket office

COMBINED VISIT (day + night)

If you wish to visit both the daytime and evening parts of the exhibition on the same day, it is possible for a single admission fee.

You may stay in the garden until the Crystal Garden lights up at 17:00 and wait for the evening program.

During evening viewings (Thursday – Sunday), the botanical garden will be open from 9:00 to 21:00.

From 17:00 to 21:00, only the Ornamental Garden and St. Claire's Vineyard exhibitions will be accessible.

For visitor convenience, refreshment stands will be open on the garden grounds, as well as our café, Café Ornament.

The exhibition includes refreshments and the sale of glass products from the workshops of Pačinek Glass and Ondřej Novotný.
