About this event
The new exhibition will take you into the fascinating world of Czech glass Christmas ornaments, which are among the most significant traditions of our glassmaking and costume jewelry craft. The museum presents the largest publicly accessible collection of its kind in the world and offers a look at the development of Christmas ornaments from their beginnings to the present day.
Visitors will discover a variety of shapes, colors, and manufacturing technologies, from classic blown ornaments with roots in the German region of Thuringia to unique decorations made of blown beads, which were created right here in Northern Bohemia. Thousands of exhibited items document the extraordinary skill of local manufacturers and the changes in taste across the decades.
A significant part of the exhibition consists of ornaments made between 1993 and 2006 by the Jablonex Group, which was among the world's most significant manufacturers and exporters of Christmas ornaments. Each exhibited piece tells a story of tradition, craftsmanship, and creativity, thanks to which Czech Christmas ornaments have gained admiration all over the world.
The vernissage will take place on 22.10.2026 at 6 PM
