About this event
We cordially invite you to a unique concert, in which, with humility and respect (not as a revival act), a cross-section of the entire musical career of our greatest singer and "Golden Nightingale" will be performed by 24-year-old Kristián Šebek, complemented by spoken word and stories behind his songs. The entire experience will be further enhanced by a spectacular light show, first-class guests, and fantastic sound, all accompanied by a 15-piece live orchestra.
About the project
Kristián Šebek: “Even as a little boy, I admired the singing artistry and charm of our greatest Czech singer. I learned from him and wished not only to sing his songs, but to sing at least a little bit as well as he did. And so Karel Gott became my idol, and he remains so to this day. I have been singing his songs since early childhood, and even while he was still performing, the idea arose to pay tribute to him and spread these beautiful melodies further. After his passing, we postponed these plans, fearing we would be seen as presumptuous; only now do we dare to present our project to the world.”
We realize that there was and will only ever be one Karel, and we are not trying to win the audience's favor as some kind of replacement. My greatest wish is simply that his songs continue to be heard and bring joy to their listeners, all in the form they deserve.
The concert is filled with a cross-section of hits by Karel Gott, Karel Svoboda, Jiří Štaidl, and other authors of the Master, from the beginning of his career to his final concerts. All songs are richly arranged and accompanied by a live orchestra of up to 15 members, including percussion, a brass section, a string quartet, and other instruments.
Concert duration: 2 h 50 min including an intermission.
