About this event
A one-woman show by Simona Stašová. Shirley Valentine is the name of a girl who no longer exists in the current forty-year-old mother of a family and wife of a respectable citizen.
Even though she primarily has to ensure that the life of her family living in Liverpool stays in its well-worn tracks, the dreams and desires of the girl she once was remain within her. Perhaps that is why she succumbs to her friend's suggestion and does something unexpected – she goes on holiday to a place where grapes are grown, to Greece. And there, a new life begins, a new adventure, everything she had already considered lost. This brilliant comedy about searching for one's own identity by the famous British playwright Willy Russell, whose musical Blood Brothers has traveled the world, is intended not only for all middle-aged women who are slowly losing their zest for life, but also for any audience who loves good entertainment. Moreover, this brilliantly written monodrama, in which the actress portrays not only Shirley but also all the characters of her micro-world, is perfectly tailored for the star of the Městská divadla pražská, Simona Stašová, who long waited for just such an opportunity.
