Glassmakers' Week 2026

Last year's inaugural edition of the (tý)DEN SKLÁŘŮ (Glassmakers' Week) project received an exceptionally positive response from visitors, industry experts, and participating partners. It confirmed that Czech glassmaking still holds a firm place not only in our culture and tradition but also in people's hearts. That is why the Museum of Glass and Jewellery decided to build on this success and continue promoting this unique glass craft and its practitioners across the Czech Republic.

We are pleased to announce that the 2nd annual project will be dedicated to the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage. From October 17–25, 2026, we will celebrate this prestigious inscription of handmade glass production on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Visitors can look forward to a varied program that will showcase the richness, tradition, and contemporary form of Czech glassmaking. The museum is the proud coordinator of the entire initiative within the Czech Republic and looks forward to working with partners from glassworks, museums, schools, and other institutions.
