About this event
What does it mean to be a "superfluous man" in this day and age? Contemporary British playwright Simon Stephens was inspired by Chekhov's Uncle Vanya to create a compelling monodrama about uncertainty, unfulfilled dreams, and life's losses, which resonate surprisingly strongly with the present day. In this production by the DiDiArt Praha ensemble, the entire story is carried by a single actor – Michal Kern, who brings an entire world of characters, relationships, and emotions to life over the course of the evening. The result is an intense theatrical statement full of humor, paradoxes, and fragile moments, in which each of us might unexpectedly recognize ourselves. Michal Kern is a Czech Lion award winner for the title role in the film Arvéd. He is also known for his work at the National Theatre, Divadlo v Řeznické, and numerous film and television roles.
Cast: Michal Kern
