What does glass art look like through the eyes of children? Come and discover the results of the unique Young Glass Symposium (YGS) project, which connects talented young artists with experienced glass artists and craftsmen.
The children's glass symposium was created to support creativity, craftsmanship, and the relationship of the young generation to glass. Based on an art competition, gifted pupils from elementary art schools in the Czech Republic and abroad are selected for the project, giving them a unique opportunity to turn their designs into real glass works. With the help of professional glassmakers, they test technologies such as manual shaping and glass blowing, grinding, painting, sandblasting, or creating glass mosaics.
This year's edition took place from June 18–21, 2026, in Kamenický Šenov and Kunratice u Cvikova. The theme of the art competition was The Realm of Dreams, which opened space for imagination, personal stories, and unexpected artistic solutions for the young creators.
The exhibition at the Severočeské muzeum will present a collection of original glass objects created during the symposium and offer visitors a glimpse into the world of children's imagination, where bold ideas meet the mastery of Czech glassmaking.
Admission is free.
