Görlitz City Center, Obermarkt

Obermarkt is one of the largest and most beautiful historic squares in the center of Görlitz, forming an imaginary gateway to the old town. It is dominated by the Baroque Holy Trinity Church (Dreifaltigkeitskirche) and a series of magnificent townhouses with Renaissance and Baroque facades, which formerly belonged to wealthy textile merchants. The square still serves as a lively center of activity today, where markets and cultural events are held, and thanks to its well-preserved historical atmosphere, it is also an extremely popular location for Hollywood filmmakers.
