Heimat is an original project by five experienced musicians seeking a common language between contemporary jazz, ambient music, world music, and open improvisation. Their work is not based on solo exhibitions but on a collectively created soundscape in which the melody, rhythm, and color of individual instruments intertwine. Electric guitar, saxophones, synthesizers, and two separate percussion sets create a distinctive sound that is both meditative and rhythmically gripping.
Heimat's music draws inspiration from various cultural traditions without imitating them literally. Alongside modern jazz, echoes of African rhythms, ambient music, and the contemporary improvisational scene appear. Individual compositions develop naturally, with an emphasis on mutual listening, dynamics, and gradually built-up tension. Listeners can look forward to a concert that invites immersion rather than immediate effect – a musical journey full of space, color, and surprising changes.
