Workshop: Layered Pastel with Šárka Raichová

Šárka is an artist, lecturer, art therapist, and Waldorf teacher. She writes poems just as they come in silence, walks through the landscape, most often off the beaten path, and is moved by the omnipresent beauty…
She is happy to introduce you to the secrets of layered pastel, a technique she learned and adopted from the artist Markéta Kotková, for which she is very grateful. This technique, which Markéta Kotková has been developing for over 20 years, was already presented at Sýpka Lemberk last year through an exhibition of Šárka Raichová’s paintings titled Do světla ze tmy (Into the Light from the Darkness).
It is a multi-layered and truly magical technique. Markéta named her course “Learn to Conjure the Rainbow,” and that is exactly what it is. We will conjure with dry pastels, which are gradually fixed and continuously layered. You will learn to mix colors from three basic shades (yellow, blue, and red). The technique involves playfulness and improvisation, but it is also possible to carry out a specific intention.
Please bring an apron and a desire to create—one for your clothes and the other within yourself. No previous experience or artistic skill is needed. You will work with templates you tear out yourself. You will stain your fingers many times and wash them again… You truly won’t regret it.
The participation fee is 500 CZK/person; the number of participants is limited to a max. of 7.
All art materials are included in the price and will be available on-site.
! Contraindications: Please be aware if you suffer from eczema (pastel is blended with fingers) or asthma (hairspray is used as a fixative, and quite generously).

Author Poetry Reading with Šárka Raichová

Šárka Raichová has been writing poems for many years, sharing them with her friends and occasionally sharing them at public author readings. Perhaps one day the poems will find their way into a book along with Šárka's artistic imaginations.
This time, Šárka will be reading her poems to you at Sýpka.
What are the poems about? They reflect a relationship with nature, love for humanity, and an inner relationship with the One whom we can seek and find throughout our whole life.
Šárka's reading will be musically accompanied by the family duo Alena and Zita Tichá.
